Buying Time

In a scene in the 'I Not Stupid', which is a singaporean production, a boy stole money from others in order to buy some time off his dad so that he could attend his performance. Now, this is really saddening.

However, this is not something uncommon in our surroundings, parents are always too busy about their career, leaving their children to the maid or the grandparents. I have seen kids with parents divorced, they are really rebellious, and, at the same time, inferior.

Sigh.
