Office politics is NOT optional? Part II

As a continuous from the Part I, let me continue with some quotes.

Politics is part of society. Where there is a group of people — anywhere, even on the playground - there is politics.

Sad, but true. Politic is just part of our life. We should not take it too seriously nor too light heartedly. It is like a knife, you can cut with it if you handle with care; but, it will back stab you when you suddenly forget the fact that it is a weapon. Like the chinese saying, "water can carry your boat, it can also overturn your boat". It all depend on how do you handle it.

Well, or course, not everyone can master the skills of utilizing the art of politics. That is when the danger comes. Truth is also, how many people succeed the way? Politics are everywhere. Home politics, office politics, country politics, and so on. So, as you can see, as long as we live, this is something that we must bear and dare to face.

Avoidance is for the weak. Survival is for the fittest.

Office politics is NOT optional? Part I

This morning, as I was reading someone's blog, but, I shall reserved the identity. But, I am going to quote some very inspiring sentences out.

Whether you liked it or not, we all do politics. From the moment we start socializing and making friends in kindergarden, we are already in politics. But we don't call it that, cause politics is a dirty word.

How true. Without us knowing it, we are all politicians. :D People always say, we must always be ourselves, shouldn't pretend to be something that we are not. But give some thoughts about it, if we are really being who we are, how many will like us? Truth is, other than our own family or really really close people, there is no one else in the world that truly likes who we are. Life is just a game, you are bound to lose when you don't do the dirty tricks.

Even when we mingling around our friends, don't we tend to please others as well? Face it. This is something that we ALL do, only varies by degree. Some are big time ass lickers, some are just minor lickers. Some people will say, why should we live to please people? If you are this type, congratulations. You just just set up your own grave. Face it man, who doesn't like to be pleased?

Well, only survival for the fittest.

Office Politics

By the way, how do you handle the office politics? Unless you are the sole employee like I was last time, but, there is bound to be politics as long as you work with people.

So, how would you face it? Choose a side to stick to? Neutral? Double headed snake? Or turn a deaf ear to everything. I personally think that turning a deaf ear to everything is the best way. Ignorance is bliss.
