Family Day

After quite some stress from work, home is always the best place. By home, I don't mean a small narrow room or some place furnished all the nice stuff in the world. By home, I mean a cozy place filled with people that you love and who love you.

Home is indeed the best place for an escape. Family members are the only people who will tolerate you, and like you for who you are. You can really be yourself at home. Unless you are living in a big family with an ocean of wealth. Then, you probably need to play some politics to outshine everyone, for the wealth and the fame.

Well, I don't have a pool of wealth at home, but I own a pool of love. The best thing that ever exists. :) They have been very supportive of me, even when I was out of job, when I was on job hunt, they never nagged nor complained. Cool indeed.

Every Morning

Weeee it's saturday! But, I am still up early.

Suddenly the song of Sugar Ray keeps ringing in my head. It feels awful having to wake up early. I am still so sleepy and have not recovered from my post-fatigue yesterday. Running on turbo for 2 days straight strained me out like crazy.

Well, being at home gave me some freedom. But, one day, if you decide to 'fully utilize' the freedom and put your work aside. God bless you. The stress will haunt you for the rest of the week.

With quite some experiences in job hunting, I totally understand the hardship and the tedious process of job search.

End of the week

Weeeeeee finally it's the friday, and after some massive struggles, somehow I managed to finish work in time. But, I am running out of brain juice.

Gosh, headache headache. I can't imagine if I will have to do this for the rest of my life. It may seem like a simple job, but when you get your hands on it, you will say otherwise!

I have been flipping the classifieds on the papers. Man, even job hunt is not easy. Well, the thought of restarting the whole process just scares me, I am still not recovered from the trauma.

Behaviours that cause stress

Sometimes, stress does not necessary come from the external sources. In fact, most of the time, it is our behavior that causes us stress.

For example, you knew there is a project due the day after tomorrow, and you need to get it done by tonight. But, due to laziness, you decide to slack tonight and hang out with friends. In the end, tomorrow you suffer the whole day rushing the project.

So, from this example, we can see that we create the stressor ourselves.Should we had disciplined ourselves and follow the tight schedule, we would not be suffering the stress now.

Duh,this is exactly what I am experiencing right now!

Another day ends

Finally another day ends, somehow I managed to meet the quota of work of the day. But, as I slacked a little on last Friday, I am now suffering the consequences. I guess, it is better for me to OT or whatever and finish what's pending by all means.

It's quite disturbing when you know you have pending work. The stress of the disturbing thoughts can be crazy.

Monday Super Blues

Although I am back to SOHO, but Monday is still a Monday to me, and I need to be mentally prepared to work on Monday. These days, I tried to keep a discipline of myself though, wake up on time, work, then off on time. I have had the experience of without a disciplined time schedule, and my life was quite screwed.

So, this time, I need to tell myself, be discipline be disciple.

Evening time

Finally, the day has ended, slogging my ass off. Luckily I somehow managed to complete my quote of the day...more for tomorrow. :(

Life is a never ending process of torment. Eat, sleep, work, otherwise, job hunt, interview and etc. I think I have mastered the art of stress management skills. I will reveal the secret of practical stress management to you here, if there is any of you reading this.

Early bird

I think I am used to waking up early now, even without alarm I still rise at before 8.

My mom always says, early bird gets the worm, but, I just don't want to get the worm! The power of sleeping is too overwhelming sometimes. Nothing beats a good sleep!

What is your ambition Part II

Just when my boss called me in for a talk the other day, we were talking about work and shit, and he asked me, :

"what is your ambition?"
"we will see what can you do in the company to achieve your goals".

Well...those questions kinda struck me. I mean, I really do not have an answer for it.

What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Worrying causes stress

Stress management, is really something that all of us need.

All of us tend to be worrying about tomorrow, worrying about things that have not happened yet, but we should know that tomorrow has its own course and it is not up to us to decide.

So, if you are constantly worrying this and that, you are only digging a tomb for yourself. If you are worrying about your job everyday, you should sit back and chill, and just do your best, don't worry, be happy.

What is your ambition?

What is your ambition? You might have dreamt about being a doctor, lawyer, police, teacher, sailor, pilot and etc.

I am sure all of us have been sort of 'brainwashed' to work towards all these prestigious occupations. For the sake of parents? But, at the end of the day, it is what we are going to be, and going to get anyway.

And, how many of us actually achieved our ambitions? I really wonder. My 'ambition' was to be a doctor, and look what am I doing now. So, all I can say is, bye bye to my ambition. When I have children of my own next time, I guess, I will not instill an 'ambition' into their mind, after all, it's their life to decide who they want to be!

Working from home

Yo, I am, once again, working fully from home. Although I have told myself Nth times that I shall just stick to my schedule and work, but sometimes, it seems, it is just hard. This is also not fully a matter of discipline, but it is more like the emotions thing. No matter how well disciplined you are, if you have the freedom of working at home, then you know why. :P

Sitting in front of computer when you just get out of bed is absolutely fun!

Rants

Although sometimes I just don't understand the whole point about working, but I have come to realize one thing for sure, which is, we will be eating shit if we don't work.

If I don't work, I wouldn't be sitting here typing as well, I'd probably hide and cry in a dark corner pathetically. Although you might think that," So what if I don't work? My family is most willingly to support me!"

This is probably true... but it's the pride that matters. Imagine you attend uni friends gathering, everyone is catching up, and updating each other with their work, good or bad, they have something to talk about. And you will be sitting there staring blankly at the friends who are yanking happily. Now, this is a pretty sad state right?

Objective of working

Have you ever thought of this question seriously? Why should you work? What's the point of you going in to the office everyday and face something that may dismay us. Or, who should we work our asses off for?

For me, the idea and objectives are pretty vague. Work for money? Work for ambition? Or, just for the heck of it? I really wonder sometimes. But I guess...it will be all a different story when you have a family of 5 to feed one day.

How to create an outstanding resume

With my long term experiences of job hunting, I have come to realize something that is extremely important that will grant you an interview, which is the great resume. There are many things that we should pay the attention to. We can't even afford a little mistake in the resume. After doing some search in the Google, I found some interesting facts about what a resume can do a what a resume can't do for you.

· A resume will not get you a job — an interview can.

· A resume is not a particularly good tool for getting interviews. Direct contacts and leads given to you by those you know — or can come to know — are far more important.

· A good resume can help you in your job search, but many people get good jobs without using a resume at all.

· A simple, error-free resume is a far more effective job search tool than an elegant one that you are working on while you should be out getting interviews.

Saddest time of my life

A couple of days ago, I had the saddest time of my life. I thought I have finally found a job that I enjoyed, but, everything turned out different from what I had imagined.

Well...I was interrogated for an hour +, it felt like the longest and hardest time of my life. I did not remember what exactly happened during the talk, I think I am still suffering from some sort of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and I think I lost some of the memory during then. But, I will write some entries for that when I recollect my memory.

I was really upset by the whole thing. I guess.. I don't know. I am confused. What shall I do next?

Why SOHO

Although I myself have understood perfectly the pros and cons of SOHO, but somehow, I prefer it to be 50-50 though.

But, now, I am forced to be back to fully SOHO, again. Bad or good? I really don't know this time. Perhaps it is time, again. Sigh.

Good news, or is it a bad news? I am back to SOHO style again.

Just some thoughts

I can't help thinking and wondering... what would it be like to go on another job hunt now? Job hunting is a really daunting experience. But, can we totally avoid it?
